Every Accessibility Service
We Offer

Grab Bar Installation

Structurally anchored grab bars in showers, tubs, and around toilets — installed into wall studs or with proper blocking, not just drywall anchors.

Roll-In & Walk-In Showers

Curbless shower conversions with appropriate slopes, non-slip tile, and fold-down bench seating — fully accessible bathroom design that doesn't look institutional.

Wheelchair Ramps

ADA-compliant entrance ramps with proper slope ratios, handrails, and landing areas — built to code and designed to complement your home's exterior.

Doorway Widening

Standard doorways widened to 32–36 inches for wheelchair and walker clearance — with proper header work, framing, and finish matching your existing trim.

Step Elimination & Threshold Transitions

Level transitions between floors, step removal at entrances, and threshold modifications that eliminate trip hazards and rolling barriers throughout the home.

Full Accessible Bathroom Conversion

Complete bathroom redesign for accessibility — roll-in shower, comfort-height toilet, accessible vanity, grab bars, and non-slip flooring as a coordinated project.

FAQs

Have more questions? We're happy to walk through your home and discuss your specific needs.

Call Us Now
Does grab bar installation require a permit? +

Basic grab bar installation typically does not require a permit. Structural modifications like doorway widening, ramp construction, and full bathroom conversions do require permits — we handle all of them.

Can grab bars be installed in any wall? +

Grab bars must be anchored into wall studs or proper blocking — drywall anchors are not structurally adequate for load-bearing grab bar installation. Where studs don't align with needed bar placement, we install proper blocking before bar installation.

How much does an accessible bathroom conversion cost? +

A basic grab bar installation runs $300–$800. A roll-in shower conversion runs $5,000–$12,000. A full accessible bathroom renovation runs $15,000–$35,000 depending on scope and finishes.

Do you work with occupational therapists? +

Yes — we frequently coordinate with OTs who are assessing a client's needs. OT recommendations help us understand functional requirements, and we translate those into construction specifications.

Are there grants or assistance programs for accessibility modifications in Chicago? +

Yes — the City of Chicago and Cook County offer several programs for qualifying homeowners. We can provide information about current programs during your assessment.

FAQs

Have more questions? We're happy to talk through your project in detail.

Call Us Now
How long does a kitchen remodel take? +

Most kitchen remodels take 4–8 weeks from demo to final walkthrough, depending on scope, custom cabinetry lead times, and permitting timelines.

Can I live in my home during a kitchen remodel? +

Yes — most clients stay in their homes. We set up a temporary kitchen area, maintain a clean job site daily, and schedule noisy work during reasonable hours.

Do you handle the permits? +

Yes. We handle all City of Chicago permitting, inspections, and coordination. You never have to deal with the city directly.

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Chicago? +

Kitchen remodels in Chicago typically range from $25,000 for a basic refresh to $100,000+ for a full gut rehab with high-end finishes. We provide detailed estimates so you know exactly what you're getting.

Do you offer financing? +

Yes — we work with Hearth financing to offer clients flexible payment options. Ask us about pre-qualification during your consultation.
